Deception Point By Dan Brown: A Book Review

I didn’t read The Da Vinci Code (2003) book because of all that religious hype to it. But, I was brave enough to watch the movie. Treat it like fiction they said. And so I did.

If Da Vinci Code makes you question the Church and Catholicism, Deception Point (2001) will make you question NASA, aliens and the American pride.

It is about NASA announcing to the President of the United States of America that they have discovered a big block of meteorite in the Arctic with a bug fossil embedded in it. NASA announced that there is life-form beyond Earth and in space.

Rachel Sexton, who is an Intelligence Analyst and the daughter of Senator Sexton, who will also run for President, is asked to check the discovery and confirm it’s authenticity. Not until, a lot of civilian scientist and murder chase in the Arctic made her question what this meteorite is about. She tries to uncover the truth and in the run to reach the President and avoid making a big mistake.

Expect surprises and scientific talk in the book. It got a little bit dragging in the middle of the book but what unfolded in the end was quite interesting. It’s very fast paced, reminds me of the movie Taken.

I loved the ending. I’m impressed with the story telling, gripping, makes you think it’s all real. Read it to satisfy your curiosity. This book seem like something my father would like to read. Not bad for a first Dan Brown book read!

Up next? Digital Fortress.

I remember reading this back when I was in high school. I found The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons more interesting and enjoyable though.
